Our Story
Two years ago, I was visiting upstate New York when I stumbled upon something that quietly changed the course of my life. The land here was unlike anywhere I had ever been โ endless trees whispering in the wind, the golden light that lingers after rain, and a kind of silence that feels alive.
Not long after, I came across a good deal on a seventy-acre parcel tucked into the hills of the Catskills. I wasnโt planning to buy land, but somehow the land chose me. Before I knew it, I had signed the papers โ and my journey began.
I didnโt come here chasing profit or escape. I came looking for peace, for meaning โ for a way to reconnect with something real. After years in the city, surrounded by screens and deadlines, I wanted to create a space where life could slow down again.
That dream became Golden Horde Farm & Camping โ a place where ancient design meets simple living.
I started by building yurts โ round, open, and timeless. The first time I stepped inside one, I understood why people have lived in these structures for centuries. The circular walls hold a kind of quiet magic. There are no corners, no sharp edges โ only flow, balance, and light. Energy moves freely here, and so does the mind.
Inside, I kept things simple: woven rugs, warm lamps, soft bedding, and the sky above through a skylight that watches over you as you sleep. Itโs not luxury โ itโs harmony.
People sometimes ask, โWhy would you spend your life savings building a glamping site in the middle of nowhere?โ
My answer is simple: it never felt like spending. It felt like returning.
Every plank of wood, every path cut through the forest, every nail driven into these decks is a small act of devotion โ to the land, to peace, to a way of living that feels whole.
Out here, the deer wander freely. The mornings begin in mist and birdsong. The nights end under a sky so full of stars it humbles you. And in between, something inside you begins to settle โ to remember that this is how life is supposed to feel.
So I ask you:
๐ฟ Why do you want to leave city life behind, even if only for a few days?
๐ฟ What might you rediscover when you wake to sunlight and silence instead of alarms and screens?
๐ฟ What if peace isnโt something you chase โ but something that finds you, once youโre still enough to receive it?
This place was born from those questions.
A circle of stillness in a restless world.
A space to return to what matters most.
Welcome to Golden Horde Farm & Camping โ
where the journey back to nature, and to yourself, begins.
